Tripple Trouble

My Five for Forever submission might delay the publishing throughout the nomination process of maximum of 45 days. But I've got other things to keep me busy. The editor returned three short stories from the Troubleshooter universe which I will do some stuff with.

First is a print edition called Pieces of Trouble that will collect the four existing Troubleshooter novellas in one book. To be honest, this one is a pure vanity thing to have a copy of those novellas sitting on my shelf. It will be a thin one with around 160 pages, but again, more for haptics than for reading.

Second channel then is eBook teasers through KDP Select. Maybe the shorts will fly in a give-away scenario.
Third channel will be a bit-by-bit chapter-by-chapter publishing on Wattpad and maybe some other platforms. I have no high hopes, but maybe I can kindle some interest to the Paul Trouble adventures.
Then, after all is said and done, a Pieces of Trouble eBook collector through Smashword and others.

Maybe a good reminder: there is already a Troubleshooter Novella out there. Even though we are all glad that Christmas is behind us, it is a winter season book foremost. Available on Amazon and on Wattpad.

Five for Forever ready! But not yet out...

That took a while! September! Suits me right. But a lot of things happened during the four months, mainly around my latest book titled Five for Forever. Wrote the whole thing, finished after a tour de force before Christmas, shipped it to the editor, ran through the whole thing again and back, and I am now ready to publish. The cover is done, too, I'll reveal that in a few days, hopefully.

To market my new book I will turn to a new service from Amazon called "Kindlescout". I submitted my book just a few minutes ago. It goes through three stages, if all goes well. Firstly, a check on Amazon's side for formality. Secondly a nomination process by potential readers like you (and me). If after 45 days a book has received enough votings, the book will be contracted by Kindle Press and marketed in the big mean Amazon machine.
Let's see how that works out.

What I am working on — Chick-Lit, SciFi and Shorts

Troublemaker is out and already out of my focus. I should spend more time to promote and make sure that it finds a readership, but as usual I enjoy more the act of writing than the act of business. So next up in line are four oevres in various stages of completion:
  • Chick-Lit (a variation on the Notting Hill movie theme) - my take on Jojo Moynes or Cecile Ahearn. Something lighter but with a lot of drama. A book about choice, love, regrets, friendship. And death. I am at about 50K words into writing, with estimated 25K to go. The main structure stands, all important chapters are done, so the rest is pure blood, sweat, and tears.
  • Science Fiction with light horror (my take on Invasion of Bodysnatchers) and over the top action. Heads will roll, aliens will be maimed, knifed, shot, exploded and run over. I started this one a while ago, but then had more motivation to finish Troublemaker and my second German Piratenkapitän.
Then there are two Paul Trouble shorts in the wings. Both are pretty much done, I just need to review them and to send them to the editor. But who has the time.
  • Private Trouble - Paul's time as a fresh recruit, right after his Marine training. It shows the young, cocky, invincible Paul who already has some of the resourcefulness and cleverness that he needs in his later spy and troubleshooter life.
  • Fast Trouble (working title) - Paul and his sidekick Tom are stopping over in Sao Paulo to indentify a bad apple in the top management of Brazil's Strom Industries. Point of view is Tom Chan this time. He is doubting that Paul will be able to solve the case in the few hours they have alotted.

Troublemaker - Out now in Print, too!!!

Finally done, also the print version of Troublemaker is available, my latest installment of the Troubleshooter series. It took me a while because I screwed up the paper selection, white instead of creme, and it needed the help of Createspace's support and another test order to verify that now everything was fine. The electronic version is the one that is read by most people, but the printed version, that one is for myself, feeling the result of nine months in my hands.
